France returned to their classiest World Cup form, cruising to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Denmark in their opening Euro 2000 Group D game. Goals from Laurent Blanc, Thierry Henry and substitute Sylvain Wiltord won the game for the French. Blanc scored in the 16th minute after Danish keeper Peter Schmeichel was unable to hold the ball under a challenge from Nicolas Anelka. Henry made it two in the 64th minute when he collected a pass from Zinedine Zidane in his own half and raced into the Danish box before curling the ball around Schmeichel and inside the far post. Wiltord added a third in stoppage time from a pass by Patrick Vieira.

- 1.7 MB - 3.5 MB - 3.6 MB Henry (64') (2-0).Zidane sent Henry away just inside his own half with a fine pass. The striker sprinted unchallenged towards the Danish goal and calmly placed the ball to Schmeichel's left and into the net.	.
- 1.9 MB - 3.8 MB - 3.8 MB Wiltord (90') (3-0).Wiltord slotted home a cross from Vieira with the Danish defence nowhere to be seen.	.
