Ten-man Yugoslavia scored three goals in a dizzy six-minute burst to earn a 3-3 draw with Slovenia, recording the most amazing comeback ever seen at the European Championship finals. Little Slovenia, the breakaway former Yugoslav republic and rank outsiders in the tournament, celebrated a bit too early when they went 3-0 up after 57 minutes of the Group C game with two goals from Zlatko Zahovic and one from Miran Pavlin. Yugoslavia's fate looked sealed when their best player Sinisa Mihajlovic was sent off for a second yellow card offence on the hour but the dismissal spurred the favourites on to Herculean deeds. Between the 67th and 73rd minutes Savo Milosevic scored twice and Ljubinko Drulovic grabbed another to put Yugoslavia level, forcing the Slovenian defence on the back foot until the final whistle as the Yugoslavs pressed for the winner.
