The Czech Republic bowed out of Euro 2000 with a consolation 2-0 Group D victory over Denmark. Two goals from Vladimir Smicer in the 64th and 67th minutes gave the Czechs their first points in their final match of the tournament's toughest group from wich France and the Netherlands had already qualified for the quarter-finals. The Czech Republic were finalists four years ago at the European championship in England but lost their two first group matches at Euro 2000. Denmark finished the tournament without a point and without scoring a goal.
